Every semester Cru puts on a show of sorts called CARTS (Cru Arts). These shows are really moving and are an opportunity for people to express their praise to the Lord in an outlet that God has blessed them with. For the first time, I am performing in CARTS. Singing is something that I know I have a gift for but that as I have gotten older I have lost my confidence in it. Singing runs in my family and I know I have "the ear" for harmony, but I usually can't pick out the note myself. Well, my dear friend Shannon and I are taking a leap of faith and are going to sing our hearts tomorrow. I am actually really excited, but mainly just really nervous. Not only are we singing, we are even harmonizing. This is a huge step outside of my comfort zone but I am excited to see how this will strengthen my friendship with Shannon and bless the Lord. Please say a prayer for us!! We also have a friend playing the guitar for us and a friend drumming so I think we will have quite the girl band up there. It should be fun, I'm excited.
And hey, in Psalm 100, we are asked to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. Not a pretty one, not a perfectly pitched one, a joyful noise. So, here go Shannon and I making a joyful noise.
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye the the LORD he is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto Him and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. Psalm 100 KJV
